Activism

Self-organized spaces, Do-It-Yourself and Do-It-Together hold a special kind of magic to me. I firmly believe in the power of grassroot initiatives and self-representation. This is why I am active in different areas.

An organization for trans men and afab (assigned female at birth) nonbinary that started as casual meetings. Our website has extensive materials supporting a transition and testimonials. We offer monthly meetings, meetings with relatives and loved ones, joint visits to the gynecologist and a lively online forum. This is how we create spaces in which trans men and afab nonbinary people can connect, find support and bloom together. I have been an active part of the orga team since 2019.

AwA* — Collective for Awareness Work

We all want to feel safe when out and about, whether that be in a club, at a festival or in public space. That’s where AwA* [AwA Stern] comes in. AwA* teams are there when boundaries are crossed and help those in need of support. We step in during physical, mental/emotional and substance-related emergencies, draw boundaries, mediate and deescalate. We also provide basic necessities such as water, tampons and conversations.

Gela Ochsenherz: Community Supported Agriculture

I care deeply about food sovereignty and knowing about the places my food comes from. GeLa Ochsenherz is a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) in Gänserndorf, Lower Austria. About 300 members are supplied year-round with fresh, local organic vegetables and are involved in all parts of growing, harvesting and distributing them. Traveling to the farm and working the fields is a welcome break from the complex processes of film making. I often cook for everyone on harvest days.
